Thanks for the tips, have you tried the hipstamatic app? It’s pretty awesome, allows you to set the camera up like a lomo or any other plastic lens instamatic, somen of the results are great- also an app developed by renowned Seattle photographer chase Jarvis called one best photo is also available in the app store, it’s pretty good too!

Good to know that Matt doesn’t mind his students “copying his images” . I’ll take full advantage of that in Kashmir/Ladakh!!
Anyway, every photographer interprets the scene differently. I made a photography trip with my sister, many pictures were taken side by side, however all of them came out very different (same camera, same lens).
Great Images, looking forward to that workshop in Egypt, no dates yet?

Very excited about this and the other tours you have planned. I am a huge Ancient History buff, and Alexander the Great in particular so all of these would be right up my alley, especially if the Oasis you mention is Siwa! now I’ve just got to start saving…

Marco- thanks for a great two weeks. For being a wonderful host and guide. Also for your kind words here. You’ve hit the nail on the head. I can’t tell you how many people come on my workshops and don’t take advantage of me or the other leaders. Instead of pestering us for tips and knowledge they simply sit with mouths open waiting to be feed, like some baby bird. Better to pester!

BTW that first image of the pyramids – AMAZING! That was the shot I wanted but missed and I was right next to you! Congratulations, well seen, shot and processed.

I’d be very interested in this trip, subject to cost etc.

With regard to the heat (and cold) affecting the comfort of holding cameras and lenses, I recommend the Lens Coat products.

I use them on my Nikons and they really are very good. http://www.lenscoat.com

They are custom designed neoprene covers for camera bodies and lenses – also help protect against minor dings and scratches. The camo versions are good for wildlife and the plain black for anything.
